Portraits in Watercolor” curated by Robert McGrath, Ph. D., Professor of Art History, Dartmouth.

“This is a portrait of the artist’s father, a man who has raised five children. As he stands in the shadow of the house he built himself he could just as well be standing in a grove of spruce trees in Maine where many of the summer vacations the family would take by car were spent. A man who loves chopping wood or working in his own garden, he represents the classic “Family Man”.
