When the artist's daughter Laura was a little girl she spent countless hours playing with her Raggedy Ann doll which was made for her by the wife of one of the artist's friends who was the subject in "Sparrow Hawk". One morning after carrying Laura upstairs for a nap, the artist returned downstairs and found the doll as his daughter left her. It seemed as though it was "Naptime" for both of them.
