Bone Dry

Another painting dealing with a social statement,
the watercolor “Bone Dry” portrays the side yard of a farm complex
which the artist would pass on his way to collect arrowheads. This property
actually fronted on a road named “Arrowhead Road” but now lay
dormant after the owner had passed away. The oil tank had seen it’s
last drop of oil, the cistern its last drop of water
and the house itself its last occupant. Every aspect of the property
was now “Bone Dry” and the artist feels this is where the world
is eventually heading with the oil situation and this old oil tank symbolized
this crisis to the artist. The tank, the house, the outbuildings and the barn
have subsequently been torn down.
